Craig Cronbaugh being interviewed for John Busbee’s The Culture Buzz at KFMG radio in May of 2024.

AUTHOR CRAIG CRONBAUGH of Des Moines, Iowa, published Reaching for a Star: A Memoir of My Life, My Music, and My Friendship with Famed Singer Frankie Laine in 2005. The book highlights special moments Craig spent with Frankie Laine and other Laine friends during the 22 years that Craig maintained his friendship with the singer until Frankie’s death in 2007.

Craig, a drummer for 16 years during the 1970s and 1980s, was inducted into the Midwest All-Music Association (MAMA) Hall of Fame in 2022. Later that year, Craig became a board director as well as secretary for the organization.

Craig’s good friend, Wendol Jarvis, former manager (retired) of the Iowa Film Office in Des Moines, had asked John Busbee of The Culture Buzz radio program on KFMG to meet with Craig, focusing on Craig’s past and present work in the music business. The subsequent meeting resulted in Craig being interviewed twice by John for the program on May 8, 2024. The first interview features Craig talking about his book and Frankie Laine association. The second interview with Craig introduces listeners to MAMA.
